The Confederation of Aboriginal People of Canada (Confederation ) wishes everyone a warm welcome to this new Aboriginal Government website. This website is intended to inform all the people of Turtle Island (North America) of our direction and our different objectives and projets.

The provincial representatives that were present at the founding meeting held on July 8^th 2006 in the National Capital region were Mr. Robert Mason from Yukon, Mr. Andrew Kirkness from Manitoba, Mr. Roy Hebert from Ontario, Mr. Guillaume Carle from Quebec and Ms Solange Sansoucy from Quebec. There were many Chiefs and members from different communities present for this historical event.  Mr. Jim Sinclair from Saskatchewan was absent at the founding meeting but has sent a letter of interest to join the Confederation .  Following the election of Guillaume “Billy” Carle as the National Grand-Chief, Mr. Sinclair has stated: “Billy I fully support the initiative that you are leading in Canada and I will be present at the next meeting”.

The Confederation   is honored to announce the first ^{off- reserve} National Grand Council of Chiefs. On July 8^th 2006, during the founding meeting, the following Chiefs Council was democratically elected:  Guillaume “Billy” Carle as National Grand-Chief; Mr. Roy Hebert as National Vice Grand-Chief; Mr. Robert Mason as National Secretary Treasurer; Mme Solange Sansoucy as Director; Andrew Kirkness as Director; Raymond Bilodeau as Director of Communications.

* Notice to readers:  The Confederation of Aboriginal People of Canada wishes to inform the readers that it is NOT associated to the Congress of Aboriginal People and has nothing in common with that organisation. The Confederation   has a completely different vision, objectives and goals for their members. Please do not confuse our Aboriginal Government to that association.

La Confédération des Peuples Autochtones du Canada (Confédération ) désire vous souhaiter la bienvenue sur le site du nouveau Gouvernement Autochtone. Ce site Internet a été mis sur pied afin d'informer le peuple de l''île à la tortue (Amérique du Nord) de notre direction et de nos différents objectifs et projets..

Les représentants des provinces qui ont participé à la réunion de fondation qui s'est tenue le 8 juillet 2006 dans la région de la capitale nationale étaient  M. Robert Masson du Yukon, M. Andrew Kirkness de la Manitoba, M. Roy Hebert de l'Ontario, Mr. Guillaume Carle du Québec et Mme Solange Sansoucy du Québec. Plusieurs Chefs et membres de communautés ont aussi participé à cette réunion de fondation.  M. Jim Sinclair de la Saskatchewan était absent de la réunion. Cependant, M. Sinclair avait fait parvenir une lettre d'intérêt pour joindre la Confédération .  Suite à l'élection démocratique de M. Guillaume Carle au poste de Grand-Chef National, M. Sinclair a déclaré: "Billy, je supporte les initiatives que vous avez débuté au Canada et je serai présent à la prochaine réunion".

C'est avec honneur que la Confédération vous annonce la création du premier Grand Conseil National des Chefs ^{hors-réserve}.  Le 8 juillet 2006, lors de la réunion de fondation, le Conseil National des Chefs a été élu démocratiquement. Il se compose de Guillaume Carle, Grand-Chef National; Roy Hebert, Vice Grand-Chef National;  Robert Masson, Secrétaire Trésorier National;  Solange Sansoucy, Directrice;  Andrew Kirkness, Directeur;  Raymond Bilodeau, Directeur des communications.
